Mississippi Bound
Please have the clergy and others pray for our Mississippi missions trip next week. We leave on Saturday morning with 13 eager Christians, some very skilled. Sheila the site coordinator in D'iberville has already given us our assignment and it is very extensive.
If anyone knows of a bath tub, and windows that are available for missions they can call me at (434) 258-6406.
I understand this house just got a roof last week, five years after the storm. It shifted on its foundation during the storm, which destroyed the bathtub, so they have been without a bathtub for 5 years as well. Almost every window in the house is said to be broken out and covered in card board. I can't believe that our country gives banks Billions in tarp funds, while families live this way for 5+ years after a storm.
Thanks for any leads you can give on windows or a bathtub. Except for a wide Jacuzzi style tub, I think we can modify to make most tubs fit, I don't have measurements yet on windows, but we will make anything donated or purchased at a good price work.
Sincerely, Chuck Schooler

Another "Stop Hunger Now" Event for Haiti
Saturday, March 27 at Heritage UMC
Last year, Heritage UMC began a Lenten project that called the congregation to give up something for Lent. They were then asked to take the money saved, and contribute it towards a Stop Hunger Now Event.
This year, we will extend the scope by making this a district project because the more folks that are involved, the more meals we will be able to package!
We are setting a goal of 70,000 meals to continue the good work our community did in sending 210,000 meals to Haiti.
We will package the meals at Heritage on Saturday, March 27.
We hope that you will join us in this Lenten discipline that will draw us closer to God, closer to one another, and especially closer to those around the world who are in need.
To contribute towards this project, please make checks payable to Lynchburg District UMC, 621 Court St. Lynchburg, VA 24504

Larry's Link - A Report on Haiti
Folks, I would like to report to you that the Virginia Annual Conference collected an estimated 40,000 health kits for UMCOR/Sager Brown Haiti relief effort and still more are being put together. The first tractor trailer load of kits has been delivered to Sager Brown and the second load will head that way in several days thanks to the wonderful efforts of Bob Forrest and Swift Air trucking company.
In addition to the health kits, a total of $36,927.00 was collected and sent to Sager Brown which will defray the cost of completing the kits and final shipment. Many folks contributed to the success of this effort and all are to be commended for being good and faithful servants!
